At Las Brisas Resort We Found a Warm, Relaxing and Socially Distanced Acapulco
To see for ourselves how travel is working in our new world, we opted for a Fall getaway. The warm welcome to Mexico included a comforting security presence and fully practiced COVID safety.
Las Brisas offers outstanding accommodations, excellent in-house food options plus a reliable and safe taxi service allowing easy visits to the most highly rated restaurants nearby or, if you wish -- a popular shopping mall!
Las Brisas Resort: Luxury, Privacy, Service
Charley visited Acapulco to learn whether one of the City's legendary iconic resorts retains the glamour and sparkling beauty it has resonated for fifty years. Short answer: Las Brisas gave us privacy and luxury at prices that offer many options.
Las Brisas is situated high on a mountaintop looking down upon the City and Acapulco Bay.
The Resort had a driver waiting for us at Acapulco International Airport and within thirty minutes we were at the Resort..
Popularized by Hollywood stars in the 59s and 60s accommodation options including private and semi-private pools, spacious guest rooms and suites and multiple food service options offering delicious locally sourced fish and other tempting specialities. The private La Concha Beach Club wowed us with excellent meals in a thatched luxury hut next to the Bay with both fresh water and saltwater pools, while Bellavista in the main Resort stunned with its 180-degree view onto a "beautiful view" of the twinkling lights of the City.
Unlike what we have seen at home during COVID-19 here we found an excellent level of COVID safety without any loss of amenities or hospitality. Las Brisas staff all practice social distancing with masks and other guest and safety precautions to help us relax and enjoy "getting away from it all".
And that's just what we did. When you are comfortable resuming travel we recommend Las Brisas to our clients for its old Mexico charm, immaculate grounds and staterooms, and the privacy often lacking elsewhere.
Las Brisas' Neighborhood Food Glamour: Every Night a New Adventure
Becco: Just a short distance from our hotel , Becco serves Mediterranean-inspired creations within a dramatic space offering both indoor and outdoor seating. We loved the space, service and the food.
Origen: Located about ten minutes from Las Brisas at the end of a guarded private road is Origen, part of the beautiful 5-star Encanto Hotel.and featuring outstanding international and local cuisine The hotel's architecture and design are stunning.
Zibu: Another great choice very near the Resort serving a mix of Asian and Mexican cuisine, Zibu gave us the options of tables located on multiple levels, each with an ocean breeze.
Tony's Bistro: A completely different experience than the others we enjoyed was in this rooftop restaurant just moments from the Resort. The design and beautifully lit artwork and murals deepened our appreciation of the Asian-Mexican food, artfully presented.
Saffron: Most of the 25-minute ride from the Resort is along a manicured private road with large overflowing flower boxes. The Asian-inspired restaurant is part of the 5-star Banyon Tree Hotel, itself an architectural masterpiece.
